# Privacy

The short version: what you type stays in your browser.

## The tools

Every tool on Reel Picnic runs on your device. Film titles, names, ballots, screen sizes, dates and places are worked on by the page's own code in your browser and are never sent to Reel Picnic or anyone else. There are no accounts, no forms that submit anywhere, no adverts and no third-party trackers.

## Your location

The outdoor planner has an optional "Use my location" button. If you press it, your browser asks your permission and then hands the coordinates to the page, which fills in the latitude and longitude and works out dusk on your device. Your position never leaves the browser, and the planner doesn't store it. You can type coordinates or pick a city instead.

## What is saved on your device

Some things are kept in your browser's local storage so they are still there next time: the movie night lineup, tonight's rules and the ballots; your ticks on the outdoor checklist; the wording of your printables; and your choice of light or dark theme and 12- or 24-hour clock. They stay on this device only. Clear them with the buttons on each tool or by clearing this site's data in your browser.

## Share links

"Copy share link" writes your lineup and rules into the link itself, after the # sign. Browsers don't send that part of an address to the server, so the list goes only to the people you send the link to.

## Page counts

Reel Picnic uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies or cross-site tracking. It never receives what you type into the tools. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which, like any web host, handles the requests your browser makes for its pages.

## Links to other sites

Some pages link to other websites, including our sister sites and the CleanTempMail and WebTraceCheck services. Those sites have their own privacy policies; nothing from Reel Picnic is passed to them when you click.
